Underwater Treadmill

Heated at a comfortable 89 degrees, the underwater treadmill allows your pet to exercise with the buoyancy of the water resulting in strengthening with low impact and less stress on the joints. The underwater treadmill has numerous benefits such as improving range of motion, strength, gait re-training, reducing pain, generalized conditioning, cardiovascular health and weight loss.

Swim Center

Swimming is a great way to build back strength with the benefit of zero to low impact on the joints. The heat and buoyancy of the water allow pets to maintain strength and gradually return to function as well as reducing pain after injury, surgery, neurological disease process, osteoarthrosis or obesity.

Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic exercise is an essential part of pet rehabilitation, in addition to our in-facility sessions of exercise we offer a comprehensive at home exercise program as well. Therapeutic exercises are used to improve flexibility, muscle strength, improve balance, return to full mobility following surgery or injury, enhance cardiovascular performance and prevent further injury.

Therapeutic Laser

Laser therapy uses deep-penetrating light energy to activate a biological response that stimulates nerve cells and releases endorphins to relieve pain. The treatment reduces pain and swelling by improving blood circulation, and the cellular reactions encourage your pet’s body to heal itself naturally. Therapeutic laser treatment is used as part of a multimodal approach to reduce inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. It also provides the benefit of accelerating tissue repair and cell growth, reducing scar tissue formation and aiding the immune system to fight infection.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is highly beneficial and used frequently as part of a pet’s physical therapy plan. Massage is ideal for decreasing pain, increasing range of motion, circulation and when incorporated with other modalities in rehabilitation can enhance the patient’s recovery speed.

Pain Management Consultation

There are many types of pain that have different effects on your pet’s health and quality of life. We utilize a variety of techniques to help reduce acute and chronic pain, and establish a treatment plan that will best benefit your pet. Our comprehensive approach to pain management including laser therapy, heat and cryotherapy is used during the rehabilitation session to help alleviate pain and discomfort. Manual therapy including joint mobilization to increase comfortable range of motion and soft tissue work such as myofascial therapy and massage help to release tight muscles, relieve spasm and pain.

Assistive Devices, Orthotics and Prosthetics

If your pet is in need of a mobility cart following injury or surgery, we offer custom fittings for Front Wheel/Rear Wheel and Quad Carts. We work closely with Walkin Wheels to ensure your pet’s cart is properly measured and designed specifically for your pet.

We also offer assistive devices to aid in your pet’s mobility following injury, surgery or degenerative conditions, some of the options available but not limited to are: boots to protect paws, soft braces to provide stability and reduce knuckling of the paws, adjustable splints for temporary support, harnesses and slings to assist with mobility.

Orthotics and prosthetics are useful alternatives when corrective surgery is not an option or when protection is needed to prevent post-operative injury.

Acupuncture

Pet acupuncture involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles (dry needling) into specific points on the body referred to as acupuncture points where the nerves and blood vessels meet. This in turn induces a therapeutic effect enhancing blood circulation and tissue oxygen levels. Acupuncture also releases endorphins, which reduce inflammation and provide pain relief. This treatment encourages the body to heal itself by correcting energy imbalances, which can greatly improve your pet’s overall quality of life.
